Not Sweating It

March 3rd, 2008 by Lia Sebastian

I participated in the second round of Sven’s 70 Days of Sweat writing challenge. The third round began March 1. This time around, I’ve decided to pass. The goal is to write 70,000 words in 70 days. The second round was a bit different—70,000 words in about 90 days. This took the holidays into account. That worked better for me, because that flexibility helped immensely. It spurred me to write, but there are days I don’t want to write and don’t want to feel guilty about it. So I’m not going to sweat this time.

However, I’ve got some goals in the next few months. Most pressing is to finish Sanctuary. Then it’s back to Tony to finish his story. Wish me luck.

Good luck to those of you who are sweating!

Sweat with Sven Update

January 8th, 2008 by Lia Sebastian

I’ve got an update on my 70 Days of Sweat goal.

Today: 0/70,000 (0%)
Total: 71,042/70,000 (101.49%)
Generated with the Progress Bar Generator.

Yay! The term doesn’t end until January 15, so I’m going to keep going, but it’s great to have achieved it.

Word Count, New Writing Tools, and More

November 18th, 2007 by Lia Sebastian

At long last, I’m updating my Sven word count. Here it is.

Writing is keeping me very busy these days. I can’t believe it’s already mid-November. How did that happen?

Something wonderful did happen this week. My boss’s boss had a drawing to give away a laptop she no longer needed. I put my name in the drawing because I have been thinking about getting one that I use only for writing. Guess what? I won! I love the new laptop, and I’ve found it’s very productive to write on one that doesn’t have internet access. (I’m on the internet one now.)

Can I just say how much I love Shakespeare? I saw a production of King Lear this week, and it reminded me how much Shakespeare refuels me. I could watch one of his plays every week and not be tired of them.

What refuels you?

Sweating Update

October 21st, 2007 by Lia Sebastian

I’m having a hard time getting the word count meter to work in my sidebar, so I figure I’ll do a weekly update for the 70 Days of Sweat.

I’m working on Battle, my Vampire Chronicles story for Cobblestone Press. It’s coming along quite nicely.

Get Ready to Sweat

October 15th, 2007 by Lia Sebastian

I decided to participate in the 70 Days of Sweat writing challenge. Just looking at the banner makes the sweating begin . . .

I’m sure I can do it, though. I need to write 70,000 words between October 15 and January 15 (70 days with time off allowed for the holidays). Since I need to write 50,000 for NaNaWriMo, I have faith that I’ll do it. I’m going to finish my single title Vanished and my novella Battle.

Let the sweating begin . . .
